I was not prepared to leave them in a ‘traditional’ boarding kennel where they would spend their days in a small kennel with little interaction with humans and none with other dogs. I was so incredibly grateful to discover Puppy Cottage, where they could spend their days playing with lots of other dogs and be provided with excellent care. It is very obvious that the owners and staff at Puppy Cottage love dogs and love their job. In the course of our having two wonderful additions into our family in the form of Tommy & Chewy, we as owners had the odd encounter such as last minute vacation plans, emergency family requirements, a sudden day-sitting request, and the ubiquitous grooming need. Our lives definitely have a much smoother feel to things with you guys being always ever helpful and open to our crazy schedules to accommodate our calls.

When you love your dogs as much as we do, it does get sticky in finding a place that houses them safely, happily and hygienically to ensure your darling mutts get the least interruption to their routine as much as possible when you need to have external help on things. We can never marvel enough at how happy and settled our dogs are when we welcome them home nor can we appreciate enough the top rated job done in keeping them groomed. What's more we've seen an amazing change in their socialising skills in the environment that Puppy Cottage has created.

How can we thank you guys enough? I really doubt there will ever be a bottom line! You guys are real angels and we highly recommend your passion, effectiveness and professionalism in handling all matters relating to the welfare of our dogs, to other dog owners who are looking for an alternative that goes beyond your dog being just a number in the cage. The only cushy pad your warm furry darling will be snoozing in will be the safe enclosure that they call sleep pad. Given our no-cage policy, we have seen the positive side of allowing your dogs to mix healthily with other furry friends and if you want peace of mind, you really don't have to look further than here. Your darlings are kept free to roam within a place that enjoys secured frontage - with ever human visitor allowed inside and supervised in person only if Ryan / team beeps them in. Now, that's peace of mind indeed.

We wish Puppy Cottage all the best and hope that you will come over to visit us in our new home in Australia! We are sure that Tommy and Chewy will be ever ecstatic in seeing you guys again!

Dear Puppy Cottage,

Thank you so much for taking care of Lucky during her 4 months stay there.

Lucky is our mischievous but loving Border Collie, which we love to bits. Early this year, we made a decision to do a major renovation on our house. During the renovation period, we had a hard time keeping her in our rented apartment. She is really a spoilt brat and when it came to board her we searched high and low for a suitable place. We actually tried a couple of places before, but often found her either lonely or ended up with skin problems.

Hence, we turned to the Internet in search of a safe/clean place to board her for this long duration. We ended up on the Puppy Cottage blog and reading the testimonial from Elena and Max. We called the next day and thanked God there was a place for her.

Lucky was unfortunately not socializing well with other dogs. We were a bit nervous when we sent Lucky on the first day. Could she adjust well now that there were suddenly other dogs around?

Every morning both of us would go to our office and log on to the web cam to see how she was doing. We were both so happy when we saw Lucky playing with other dogs and it seems that she has a thing for Golden Retrievers. We then felt rest assured that she will be fine.

Another thing that we notice was when we visited her on weekends; her fur was shiny and soft. My husband has always disagreed with my amateurish way of grooming Lucky due to this one attempt where I kinda over did it. Hence, we decided to leave it to the expert and we are so fortunate that we could still now send Lucky to Puppy Cottage for grooming.

Lucky now enjoys her new house. There are changes in her after her stay at Puppy Cottage.. She is now not that nervous when she is around other dogs. We also saw another side of her, where she is really protective over her loved ones…She doesn’t normally bark but now, she’ll let us know when a stranger is at our front gate. I guessed she picked that up from there as well (If you visit Puppy Cottage, you’ll understand what I mean).

Thank you again to the crew and fellow occupants of Puppy Cottage for taking care of Lucky and making her stay a pleasant one.

Lucky Star!!!

Hi all,

A Lucky star has fallen into Puppy Cottage for four months. Oh yea, four great months!!! She had told us that her planet is under major renovation, thus the need to stay on our earth.

Lucky is a female Border Collie, which is our very first border collie star to board with us.

Lucky was a very shy and timid border collie. The first few days, she will hide in her UFO whenever she saw us coming. She did the same thing with the rest of her earth doggie friends.

However, with our patience and love, we finally manage to win her heart and from that day onward it was just fun, laughter and trust between Lucky and us.

Furthermore ,being the only alien dog in Puppy Cottage, Lucky is not used to being with the earthly dogs. Since we mentioned about it, she might not even know what does dogs mean.

As a Border Collie herself, Lucky pick things up relatively fast and she manage to get used to Puppy Cottage environment rather quickly.

Within a week, she started playing with other dogs and she loves Husky, Beagle, Labrador and her lover, a Golden Retriever.

Did we mentioned lover?

Yes, Lucky falls in love with a handsome and charming Prince, who is a Golden Retriever. Both of them will play, love each other and of course protect each other. It is a joy and fun to watch their lovely nature towards each other.

The Thai Prince is currently having his holiday with us in Puppy Cottage before he plans to fly to Australia. If you would like to read more about his stay with us, pls click here.

Another great act from Lucky, the super sonic charge from her while greeting us is always a nice gesture from her. Sometime the impact can be so strong, her weight alone will make us fall.

After the funfilled four months, Lucky has finally flew back to the planet she called home.

However, we will miss her tricks and joy that we had together in Puppy Cottage.

We would like to wish Lucky and her family all the happiness in their newly renovated planet.

In addition, we would like to thanks Lucky and her owner for trusting our planet temporarily and us, Puppy Cottage in taking care of Lucky.

It has been a pleasure to have you with us!

Term & Condition of Puppy Cottage :P (Tommy & Chewy = TC = Term & Condition)

Hi all,

Puppy Cottage has introduced new term and condition (T&C) for all our boarding and grooming guests. This new T&C have changed the lifestyle in Puppy Cottage significantly.

The T&C will be implemented for at least a year.

With the implementation of the new T&C, we have seen a significant improvement in the greeting and welcoming department. The playing became lively and enjoyable. In addition, the routine became more stringent yet easy to be followed by others. Furthermore, everybody have become more alert and the greetings of new friends are friendlier and warmer.

Lastly, security was tighter ever since the introduction of the new term and condition.

Now, allow me to introduce the new term and condition to all of you -----> (T&C) TOMMY & CHEWY !!

HISTORY/ PAST

A little bit of background on how we drafted the new Term & Condition of Puppy Cottage.

Both of them came to us when they were still puppies and Tommy is the older brother of Chewy.

Tommy is a Silky Terrier and he was an anti social dog. Does not want to play with the rest of the dogs. Rather be alone and bark at any dogs whom wish to play with him.

AKA as Teddy Bear

On the other hand, Chewy, a West Highland White Terrier, a playful and active little boy, will storm his way into our cottage everytime he is at our door and start to play and wrestle his friends.

These two little cute fellas are superbly alert, will bark on any moving object (human included). When you pay us a visit at Puppy Cottage, you will surely be greeted by them without fail! If you don't believe us, do drop by and you will know. :P

Standard Operating Procedure

Both smarties, have a set of standard operating procedure to follow everyday.

Morning: In the morning, being awaken by the sound of food preparation, they will be waiting anxiously in their suite to come out and have their usual morning business done. Once done, they will make sure they are the first to be queuing at the day care door, and the reason is because it is feeding time!

Where are the food?

Once the makan (breakfast) session is over, Chewy will wait anxiously to get back inside to greet all his morning friends, while Tommy will wait at the other exit!

Not so fast Tommy boy, you will have to follow Chewy back inside the day care room again. Once all the friends are fed, Tommy boy will be the first to rush out of door and out to the play area to......Poo! Ahhh....Relieved...Now we know why (a bit of bad habit though)... :)

I am relieved!

Day Time: During the day, it is all about Fun ~~ Playing ~~ Sleeping!!! Inviting their friends to play with them and at the same time, making sure the security in Puppy Cottage is safe (barking :P )

Did we actually mentioned that both of them invited their friends to play? Yea, you read it right, Tommy now is a change man! He started to accept the doggie friends around him and will start the initiative to play with the rest of his doggies friend.

Quote "you are still able to teach an old dog new tricks!"

Chewy is the head of the security in our Cottage. He kinda boss the rest around him. When he is asleep, nobody dare to go near him and usually the new member whom does not know the routine of the BOSS, will be given a warning by the BOSS.

Sleeping Time: Somehow, both cuties, has a clock in them because when it is bed time, they will be the first to go in.

All our regular customers in Puppy Cottage loves Tommy and Chewy. They are a pair that can't be ignored. Tommy usually will lead the barking and Chewy will be sitting next to him, waiting to be touched rather than bark.

Chewy was brought out with us to Doggie Day Out, whereby Gromers Connection Academy is the proud sponsor of the event...however, Tommy did not join us, because as part of the security team, he got to take care of his friends and wait for the next day out. Below is a picture of Chewy being groomed to be at his best during the day.

On our second outing, this time both of them came with us. Headed to Healing Pets Veterinary to see the handsome vet, Dr. Steven for medical check out together with vaccination...both brave soul did not even show sign of fear. Chewy really show the spirit of highlander (the true spirit of the Scottish), which we guess has been passed down to his brother, Tommy as well.

Prince of the Year!!!

Puppy Cottage's third quarter of the year started off with welcoming of a handsome prince to our cottage.

It was a surprise visit from this Prince of Thailand...yea, he is from Bangkok, Thailand and he has chosen us to be his stop over holiday destination for at least six months before proceeding back to Australia.

Prince, is a male golden retriever and do you believe we have not even seen the King or Queen of this Prince. We, Puppy Cottage would like to express our gratitute for trusting us tremendously in taking care of your son.

1st three months:

As his name has suggested, royal pampering was required from his royal highness. A daily walks of two times are required by him, once in the morning and once in the evening. On top of that, a meal fit for a prince would have to be served to him. Prince knows when is his meal time! When it is feeding time, he will start to sound for his guards to bring his food to him. However, we guess the meal are too delicious till our Prince gain a little weight. :)

Routine Routine Routine...Prince is so used to his regular routine; from morning walk till bed time, he knows when it all should happen. So smart as a prince.

This little Prince has his own tricks of begging for treats and he does it wonderfully well. Below is a picture of him doing his tricks, cute right for a big golden. :P

As a Prince, we guess he is very much used to being the only dog in the palace, thus he had a culture shock when he saw so many friends around him and it took him quite a while to get used to the crowds.

Nevertheless, he has now started to get used to his friends around him although he still has his preference for friends. Below are pictures of him playing with his friends. One of the photo shot is like the story of David versus Goliath in the bible:

Following are few more shots of Prince playing with Snowy, the Siberian Husky and by the way is one of his best friends in our Cottage. Lucky the Border Collie and Milo the American Cocker Spaniel are some of his best friends as well.

Hi Puppy Cottage,

For the two months you looked after Charlie while myself and Richard were back in England, as well as all the times beforehand when we were on holiday etc, we were always so happy to leave her in your capable hands and felt safe in the knowledge that she would be looked after with proper care, love and affection. Being away from Charlie for ten weeks was so hard for me - I watched her on your CCTV service once but this made me miss her even more!! But I knew that she would be fine with you guys and enjoying her stay with you.

For anyone that is looking for boarding or grooming services in KL I cannot recommend Puppy Cottage highly enough. All of the dogs that you look after are so happy to be in your care and treated just like family pets.

One thing I will always remember is when we dropped Charlie off to stay with you for almost three weeks while we returned to England for a holiday in 2008. At the time that we left her Charlie was receiving medication and treatment for her skin and coat - Pugs are prone to skin problems and her coat was suffering terribly. We felt so guilty leaving her but were at the same time happy that she was staying with you guys where we knew she would be watched over carefully. We were confident that you would make sure that she was given her medication and oitment as prescribed by the vet and would let us know if there were any problems. When we collected Charlie from Puppy Cottage we were delighted to see that she had totally recovered and her skin and coat were in the best condition ever! This really is a credit to all of the staff at Puppy Cottage that you really do care about the welfare of the animals and listen to the owners and their concerns.

I think that Charlie's time with Puppy Cottage has benefitted her in that she did not get to meet other dogs a lot - there were no other dogs in our apartment block etc - and therefore she got used to being in the company of other dogs. Ryan I am sure you will remember how scared Charlie was the first time we left her with you way back in 2008 and seeing the pictures of her playing with Suki and Nila were just wonderful - we have you guys to thank for enabling Charlie to mix with other dogs without being frightened.

Lastly we have to thank you for introducing us to Dr Karu who organised all of Charlie's immigration requirements. Without your help we would have never been able to get Charlie back to the UK so both myself and Richard would like to say a huge thank you to all of you at Puppy Cottage for all of your help and support over the last two years.

Myself, Richard and Charlie wish you guys all the best for the future and will always be grateful to Puppy Cottage for looking after Charlie so well for us during our time in KL.

The Joy of a Pug!!!

This story is about a female pug whose name is Charlie.

Charlie has been our regular customer since she was a puppy. Never fail to entertain her friends in our cottage and of course us, every time she stayed in our cottage.

Richard and Laura Miller, her owners are currently in England. Charlie would has to stay with us for two months due to immigration matters.

Yes!!! You guys have read it correctly; she will be migrating to ENGLAND.

We will surely miss her!!! However, let’s not dwell on the sadness but let us share the happy time we had with her.

Do you know who is Charlie Chaplin, the famous comedian? Well, she is our very own Charlie Chaplin in our Cottage, though she is a girl. :P

A source of entertainment for her friends in Puppy Cottage. Her joyful character is a joy to Puppy Cottage's customers and lastly she never fails to keep us entertained.

In addition, Charlie loves to sing her heart out in Puppy Cottage just like Charlie Parker, a famous jazz musician. Never once, she fails to welcome her friends from outside our entrance and she will sing to them until they greet her inside our cottage. With her funny jazz barks and breathing, it always nice to have a cup of coffee and a cookie to enjoy her music. :)

Charlie has many friends in our cottage since she was a puppy and we are sure she will be missed by all her friends. During her 2 month stays with us, Charlie had a best friend whom is 8 months old black pug name Suki. Suki loves to cuddle beside Charlie during her nap. Basically, the two of them will eat, sleep and play together. Can't be separated!!! Below are pictures and a slide show of Charlie together with her best friend:

Charlie celebrated her birthday in our Cottage and we have prepared a sumptuous fine dinning for her dinner. Chicken with Tuna chunks, added with cherry tomato and Cottage Cheese. Yummy right?

For the 7 months you looked after Nila while we located from Manila to Melbourne you guys took fantastic care care of Nila and I have to admit, we have not been able to maintain her coat to the same condition as you had it when Nila arrived. I guess that's a trade secret...

For anyone looking at using Puppy Cottage's services, I can with complete confidence tell you that during the 7 months that our poodle x cocker spaniel was boarded at Puppy Cottage she was provided the best care possible. This was a great comfort for us during a time (relocating) that things can be very stressful. Puppy Cottage gave us peace of mind that our little princess (Nila) was being taken good care of and most importantly, being loved by the team at Puppy Cottage.

Prior to meeting Puppy Cottage, we were concerned about how Nila would manage without us, considering she had never left our side for more than a couple of hours before. We looked at a few boarding facilities but most seemed very clinical. A good friend of ours had previously given us some very sound advice and that was the importance of dogs who are being boarded for long periods, to experience regular human interaction, rather than been left alone in a cage. My wife found Puppy Cottage and was impressed with the fact that all the people working there also had dogs and seemed to be very passionate about caring for them.

After 3 months, my wife and I traveled to KL to visit Nila and this was the first time I was visiting the facility. I was impressed with the way that Puppy Cottage encouraged iteration with the dogs even allowing them to roam into the shopfront. All the dogs were excited to see us and especially our Nila.

As we had not seen Nila for a while, we took her to a local park, she seemed very relaxed and was in great shape. When I took her back to Puppy Cottage that night I was very impressed to see that Nila couldn't wait to get back inside and was very happy to see Puppy Cottage team member after not seeing them for most of the day. This gave me great comfort seeing that Nila actually liked staying at Puppy Cottage and wanted to be there.

During the period that Nila stayed with Puppy Cottage, they also looked after her quarantine requirements with the assistance of Dr Karu. This included vaccinations and regular blood tests.

Puppy COttage's team did a great job in managing Nila's transport requireents back to Melbourne, they ensured she was comfortable in her cage, provided her favorite toys, blankets and even rigged up a water bottle to ensure Nila had edequate water for the entire flight. They also trained Nila to drink from the water bottle weeks before the flight which indicates how thoughtful they are.

P.S. the only problem we have now is that we can't find a service as good as Puppy Cottage in Melbourne for Nila's grooming....

Nila Letter to All Her Friends

Dear Friends,

Well things are OK in this new place I'm staying at but it's not as good as being with you guys. It's kind of strange because there's lots more dogs here than Puppy Cottage and they don't let us play together. Not even Elena and Max are able to touch other dogs here. We have what is called a run, with a kennel at the end and inside the kennel, there's a wooden bed and blankets. I like to keep my cotton knot inside the kennel with me when I sleep.

The weather here is different, on the second night I was here it was 8c, but my kennel was kept warm with a red light, I was very tired after the flight, so I slept a lot. The visiting hours are very strict here, so Max and Elena have not been able to see me all the time, but last Monday Max took time off work to see me. Unfortunately, he brought shampoo and conditioner with him and he even had a brush. After we played with the green ball for a while, Max washed me. He tried to bush me, but I was still wet and the visiting time was over.

Max came back today to finish brushing me, it was great to play with the ball again and we started doing activities with obstacles. He tried to hide the ball in a tree, so I showed him how well I can jump and jumped into the tree. He took a picture of me in the tree. He then started brushing me again, because no one brushes me here, not like at Puppy Cottage anyway. I don't think Max is as good at brushing as you guys, so when he put me on my back, I kept wiggling. I have a lot of knots, well you know what my fluff is like right?

I really miss you guys and I miss the team and pals I used to play with. The guys here just bark a lot, but not like we used to bark at the customers in Puppy Cottage, actually I miss the people that used to visit us all the time.

Apparently, next Monday I'm going to get a haircut. because I don't get groomed every day like I did at Puppy Cottage, it will be better that I have shorter hair, that way when I play on the grass, I won't collect so much flora anymore.

I miss you guys and attached is a picture of me on the tree.

Last Month

The last month of Nila stay with us were mixture of emotions. Why?

First of all, we were happy because Nila is finally able to be with her parent!!! Isn't it a happy and lovely feeling?

Well, as for us, we do feel sad, after all Nila has been a part of us for more than 6 months. The moment when Nila played with her friends, being the big sister in our cottage and give warning to her friends whom disturb her while see was asleep, those were the good old memories that we will always cherish.

In addition to our emotional feeling, we have to ensure Nila's health is at her optimal condition. The down under country is strict with their ruling.

Pre-Departure Day/ Preparation (19.11.2008)

On that day, while packing Nila personal belongings (ie. food bowl, towel, toy), our hearts felt heavy (guess she has really became a part of us). In addition to her belongings, we have also pack two of her favourite toys which she enjoyed during her stay with us.

We have also ensured that she had sufficient water and food during the travelling period to Australia.

In the midst of packing, Nila's owner gave us a ring. We have given them assurance that everything is OK. From the conversation, you can just imagine how anxious and excited they are.

As the day begun to tick down, Nila felt something was going on. How do we know? She did not played like usual anymore. Well dog does has a superb six sense, don't there. :D

Day of Departure (20.11.2008)

The big day has arrived. Started off the day by grooming Nila. Gosh...does she look beautiful after her grooming session.

Dr. Karu came around 12pm to pick up Nila, all of us gave Nila one last hug before Dr. Karu brought her to the airport.

The moment of truth has came. Guess, we felt happier for her than being sad because she was just eight hour away from seeing her parent.

We will miss her enjoyment look of being groomed in our grooming room every Thursday, though it requires a lot of effort from us. (because of her long and thick fur) However, we persevered with it because we knew how unpredictable Melbourne weather can be and hopefully it will keep her warm during the cold night. :)

Called Dr. Karu in the evening to ensure Nila is alright and everything is going according to plan. Well the answer given by him was favourable. Nila was checked in and ready to be flown to Melbourne.

Arrived in Australia (21.11.2008)

Anxiously text Elena in the morning to enquire on Nila arrival in Australia. Elena replied:

"We are with Nila now. She's great! She is playing and so excited!!! Her fur looks great and so healthy!!"

To sum it all up, we, Puppy Cottage had a wonderful time and experience with Nila. Seeing her from a baby girl to a grown up girl; whereby she had learn to socialise with other dogs, shared her food and toys with the rest of her friends, and protecting her friends from being bully (alpha female) by other dogs are simply awesome!!!

To Max and Elena, we would like to thank you for trusting us so much in taking care of your beloved daughter, Nila. Appreciate it!!!

Part 3 - Surprise to Nila Life in Our Cottage

4th & the 5th Month

Can you believe it, the 4th and 5th month of Nila stays in our Cottage have really gone by like a flash of light.

So what exactly is the surprise?

Are you ready? Nila went on a holiday with her owner. YES, you read it correctly!!! Her owner came from down under, Australia to visit her.

Opps, I forget to introduce Nila's owner, her daddy name is Max and her mom name is Elena.

According to Nila's mom, Elena, it was plan in the last minute. Well, we guess the excitement of seeing Nila again after 3 months should overcome the last minute rush & tiredness.

You should have seen Nila's wagging tail upon seeing her owner at our entrance. It was really a pleasant to watch Nila rushing to her her owner. And yes, they really hug and kiss each other a lot!!!

Well, beside the big surprise from the owner, her two months stay with us is not mundane at all. Her main activities for the 4th and 5th month of her stay with us are as follow:

1) Holiday with her Owner.
2) Get to enjoy birthday cake from her doggie friend, Chi Chi (click here for the link)
3) Busy posing for the camera man in order to appear in Malaysia Newspaper and Magazine.
4) Lastly, celebrated her birthday!!!

FYI, Nila birthday falls on 28 September, Sunday.

A gourmet dish was prepared specially for her during the day.

The dish consist of chicken chop and some fresh vegetables. Can you imagine the dish already? Hungry?

Once Nila has finish her birthday dish, she gave us two expressions. First expression was immediately after her meal, she showed a pity face to us, which she tried to indicate that she wants more chicken chop.

However, once we told her she had enough, she show us a gratitude and satisfied face. :)

2nd & the 3rd Month

Well well, it has been so quick. Nila was already three months in our cottage. Her stays here are getting more and more interesting by the days!

Where to start?

Ok, she was invited to one of her friend (Charlie) birthday party that was held in our cottage. Overall, we are pretty sure she enjoyed it and she even gave the birthday boy a big big hug. Below are some of the birthday party pictures:

Do you all know that Nila has a favourite sleeping spot for her afternoon nap? The spot is actually next to our grooming door. The place is very cosy, away from the hustle and bustle of our cottage life and most importantly, she is near to us.

Hey, you are intruding my sleeping privacy!!!

Nila now love to be groomed!!! She can fall asleep while being groomed now as compared to her first time, whereby her eyes will be wide open and from her facial expression it will show: Ok...what are you guys up too?? To prove her enjoyment, we have taken a shot of her in her dreamland. :)

Ah yes, during her stay with us in our cottage, she has met with two little nice pugs. Their name are Pickle and Harley and both of them like to play and entertained their friends in our cottage just like their owner, whom entertain us, Malaysian, on Mix FM. (Mix FM's DJ, Jojo Struys)

In the background, the two entertainers, sleeping. By the way, this is Nila favourite spot for her to see us when we are having our meal.

Part 1 - Nila in Our Cottage...

To Elena and all readers of our blog,

For introduction purposes, Nila, a beautiful Poodle mix Cocker Spaniel was homed at our Cottage while awaiting to be reunited with her owner, Elena, in Melbourne, Australia.

The reason she was homed in our Cottage was due to the stringent Australian rules & regulations on importing dogs to their country.

This post will be dedicated to Nila and we will try to update this post regularly to keep you, Elena updated on your baby girl and to those whom are interested to follow Nila stays in our Cottage.

Below is a countdown tracker indicating the days till Nila will be able to be with her family again:

Nila First Week at Our Cottage

Getting used and adopting to our Cottage's environment was the story of Nila in her first week. After all, she was used to be pampered by Elena and being the only child in her family, it makes thing a bit complicated.

Socialising with other dogs was a little uncomfortable for her on the first few days, she would be bossy and will not hesitate to give them a warning. However, we are pleased to inform Elena, she is getting along fine now, she will make the initiative to play with other dogs now, especially the rougher one.

On the other hand, we noticed that she does not like to be disturbed when she is having her nap, she will scold them. Such a princess right?? :P

In addition, she loves the ring ring toy we gave to her to play with. Alas, she destroyed the ring ring toy which is far too small for her, but she enjoyed destroying it though. :)

She is eating her kibbles well during her first week, considering she was on BARF diet previously. The first few days she was not able to share her bowl of food with Mia, Toy Poodle, but now she is able to share her bowl with her. Good progress in her learning curve.

Oh yea, caught her peeing in our Cottage!!! Not good, not good...have to rectify this.

The First Month

So far so good!!! Her stay with us was a pleasant one, to say the least. We are proud to inform Elena that her beloved baby girl has settled down very well in her new home, our cottage, at least for another 5 months.

One part of Nila life's in our cottage consists of grooming. Below are two pictures taken while she has her nails cut. Relatively easy right or was it the opposite?

What are you looking at??!!

Now every dogs that comes to our Cottage, either for boarding or day care are greeted by her with a smile. She is one of the busy body girls who will go and sniff/ smell out the new comers. If she was in our grooming room, she will jumped up the grooming table to have a peek at the new comer, even though that table has an occupant on it. Below are snap shots to present to you Nila hidden skill, Jumping!!!

Toys Toys...Nila now has plenty of them, from nylon bone to cotton strings bone and raw hide (this is eatable). She will play with all of them, she will fetch, chew and bite on it. However, there is a particular toy that is her favourite. Elena, please guess it?

Last Tuesday (27.5.2008), Nila went to Shah Alam, Malaysia for her blood test. According to the vet, the blood sample will be sent to Australia for their further examination. Well, Australia is famous for their stringent rules & laws.

Nevertheless, everything went according to plan. Nila was back in our cottage in the evening as schedule. Below is a photo shot of Nila's hand reviewing a shave patch. Wonder what is it for?

Yes, the Poodle is at number two. The standard Poodle is highly intelligent and one of the easiest breeds to train. They love to be around people, and really hate to be left alone. Some standard Poodles are good guard dogs, and some can even be trained as hunters! Overall, Poodles are a sensitive, pleasant and happy breed.

#3 German Shepherds

German Shepherds are extremely intelligent, courageous, and have a very strong protective instinct. As long as they are trained in obedience from an early age by a loving but firm hand, they can be great family dogs, and excellent with children. Because of their intelligence, a German Shepherd needs a purpose or job in life to be truly happy. This intelligence, coupled with their courageous nature make German Shepherds excellent police and search dogs.

#4 Golden Retriever

Consistently ranked as the most popular breed of dog, the Golden Retriever personifies everything we love about dogs-loyal, loving, patient, great with children and eager to please. With such great intelligence, it’s no wonder that Golden Retrievers excel in obedience competitions and at performing tricks.

#5 Doberman Pinscher

Dobermans are an extremely loyal, assertive, and fearless breed. They have incredible stamina, and love to work. Although known as a dominant breed, Dobermans can vary greatly as far as temperament goes. Some can be quite docile, and even work as therapy dogs in hospitals! Dobermans can be great family dogs too, if trained properly from an early age. Although not vicious, you can count on a Doberman to aggressively protect its master if necessary.

#6 Shetland Sheepdog

Many Shetland owners swear that their dog has nearly human intelligence! Shelties were originally bred to herd hundreds of sheep and cattle, requiring great concentration and, of course, intelligence. They can be a little wary of strangers and children, but are very loyal and affectionate within their own family. In fact, the Sheltie very much craves human companionship.

#7 Labrador Retriever

An extremely loving, affectionate, and patient dog, the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds of dog in the world. They love to work, and need a lot of exercise. Without proper exercise, Labs have been known to develop weight problems. Because of their good nature, and love of children and other dogs, they are a very popular family dog.

#8 The Papillon

Does this dog scare you at all? Well it should, because Papillons are actually a lot tougher than they look! Some would characterize Papillons as a little moody and aggressive, but they are simply very possessive of their masters and “home turf”. Another very intelligent dog, and very easy to train.

#9 Rottweiler

The Rottweiler, #9 on our list, has a fearsome reputation that is largely undeserved. The Rotti is only average in intensity, and make a great family dog. Not only is the Rottweiler intelligent, but extremely courageous and reliable.

#10 Australian Cattle Dog

The Australian Cattle Dog is a very active breed. They need to be exercised on a regular basis, both mentally and physically. As they were originally bred to herd in cattle in Australia (hence the name), they are freethinking, resourceful, and very protective of their property, including people!

Well, the day started off with a busy morning!!! Firstly, our doggie friends need to be groom in order to look pretty and the ordinary looking booth needs to be enhanced with decorative to make it more presentable to the public eyes. Below are two pictures taken during the preparation.

Disadvantages of Soy Consumption for Dogs

The soybean (Glycine max) is a species of legume native to East Asia. It is an annual plant that may vary in growth, habit, and height. It may grow prostrate, not growing higher than 20 cm (7.8 inches), or even stiffly erect up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) in height. The pods, stems, and leaves are covered with fine brown or gray pubescence. The leaves are trifoliate (sometimes with 5 leaflets), and the leaflets are 6–15 cm (2–6 inches) long and 2–7 cm (1–3 inches) broad. The leaves fall before the seeds are mature. The small, inconspicuous, self-fertile flowers are borne in the axil of the leaf and are white, pink or purple. The fruit is a hairy pod that grows in clusters of 3–5, with each pod 3–8 cm (1–3 inches) long and usually containing 2–4 (rarely more) seeds 5–11 mm in diameter.

Like some other crops of long domestication, the relationship of the modern soybean to wild-growing species can no longer be traced with any degree of certainty. It is a cultural variety (a cultigen) with a very large number of cultivars. However, it is known that the progenitor of the modern soybean was a vine-like plant that grew prone on the ground.

Beans are classed as pulses whereas soybeans are classed as oilseeds. The word "soy" is derived from the Chinese word 醬油 for soy sauce/soya sauce.

Disadvantages associated with the feeding of soy products to dogs include:

They contain antinutritional factors such as trypsin inhibitor (inactivitated by extrusion and canning) and oligosaccharides, the latter being responsible for increased production of flatulence;
They have low methionine and cysteine concentrations;
Their use results in a more voluminous and higher moisture feces;
Some animals may exhibit an allergic reaction to soy protein;
Soy protein may reduce trace mineral availability because of its phytate and fiber concentrations; and
Soy product inclusion in diets may provide excessive quantities of soluble dietary fiber (modified from Hill [1995]).

Why are Dalmatians Firehouse Dogs?

Here's the Answer in Black and White Reprinted from May/June 1992 issues of Reminisce Magazine

Ever see a fire truck in a parade without a Dalmatian in the seat up front or in the lap of a smiling fireman riding in back? Ever visit a firehouse without having one of those black and white spotted dogs come wagging up to you?

Why is that? Why do Dalmatians and firehouses go together like smoke and fire? The answer is interesting, and one you'll likely recall every time you see the Dalmatian/firehouse combo from now on.

It all began in the days of stagecoaches. Horse theft was so common back then that many stagecoach drivers strung a hammock between two stalls at night, then slept behind their horses to guard against thieves.

But, if the driver owned a Dalmatian, he could sleep in the house or the stagecoach hotel. Why? Because it was observed that dalmatians formed an amazingly tight bond with horses. When they became close as with a team, no stranger would dare lay a hand on them.

Once the knowledge of this trait spread, more coach drivers went to great lengths to get Dalmatians to watch their teams. In fact, this practice became so common that Dalmatians were first called "coach dogs". They were used by coach drivers centuries ago in England, Scotland and Wales.

Horse's Best Friend?

"Dalmatians have always gotten along well with horses," says Esmeralda Treen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a recognized authority on the breed. "Horses are gregarious and feel the need for company. You can't leave them alone too long. Dalmatians take to horses and become 'companions'. Back in the stagecoach days, the 'Dals' would run alongside the coaches, or under the rear axle of the moving coach. They'd keep up with the team as far as it ran, sometimes over 20 or 30 miles a day. "

When the coached reached the inn, the coachman left the dog to guard the team as well as luggage in the coach," Esmeralda explains. "IF the coachman stayed to guard, a robber would sometimes distract him in conversation while others pilfered the goods. They couldn't pull that ruse on the Dal, since they're very alert dogs."

When horse numbers grew here in the New World, the number of Dalmatians grew with it for the same reason they were popular in the Old Country. And, since every firehouse back then had a set of fast horses to pull the pumper wagon, it became common for each group of firemen to keep a Dalmatian.

Again, the spotted dogs not only guarded the firehouse horses, they kept them company during their long, boring waits between fires. And, when they took off for a fire, the dog would run alongside the pumper.

The horses are gone from the fire stations today, but the Dalmatians aren't. The tradition has been carried on, and it may be as much for the looks and appeal of these beautiful dogs as it is for their nostalgic tie to yesteryear.

While all the facts are well founded, there is a common but false rumor that these spotted dogs that breed enthusiasts would like dispelled. It's that Dalmatians are kept at firehouses because they're deaf and therefore, the siren does not bother their ears nor make them "spook" like it would other dogs. "

I once heard that on national TV and could not believe my ears," says Chris Benoit, president of the Chicagoland Dalmatian Club. "It's true that there is a problem with deafness in the breed, but that story is totally false!"

What is true is that Dalmatians are the fastest growing breed of dog in America today. A relative rarity until recent years, Dals are expected to soar into the top ten soon, right up there with
beagles and dachshunds.

Spots in Fashion

Another thing that's true is that these dogs have spots everywhere--even inside their mouths and on the bottom of their paws! And they've become the polka dot darlings of advertising and fashion photographers, who say they like the high contrast of these black and white dogs.

Still, the Dalmatians haven't lost their old status as the fireman's friend. For example, in Middletown Connecticut alone, individual fire fighters own Dals named "Hydrant", "Chief", and "Cinder". That tradition holds across America. Even today, where there's smoke, there's likely fire...and where there's a firehouse, there's likely a Dalmatian.

Malaysia gives medals to disc-sniffers

But what a life! After a hectic round of Asia – starting with Malaysia – and flushing out pirated discs and peddlers in their wake, the four-legged duo are now headed for New York on another tour of duty and then, Toronto.

Typical of celebrities, the dogs even had their paw prints preserved in plaster for posterity.
It almost makes it worth the 10kg each dog has lost since arriving here in March. They each used to weigh about 38kg.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk S. Veerasingam said: “They are the inspiration for the newly established canine unit in the ministry’s enforcement unit.

“For a start, we have a team of four officers and two dogs to sniff out pirates. These dogs are currently undergoing training.”

Veerasingam had the honour of draping the commendation medals on the dogs that appeared to be pleased judging from their wagging tails.

Since arriving on March 13, Flo and Lucky’s work has resulted in 26 arrests and the seizure of 1.6 million pieces of pirated discs worth some RM22.8mil, three DVD replicating machines, two VCD machines, 97 CD-Recordable burners and 30,000 empty CD-Rs.

Their success in anti-piracy efforts was evident from the RM100,000 bounty placed on their heads and the “tail” put on them by local syndicates since their arrival.

Veerasingam said the dogs had been good visitors to the country. He jokingly added that Malaysia would have accorded them permanent residency, only they did not apply for it.

The canines’ biggest bust was on March 19 in Johor Baru, when they led officers to a cache of one million pirated discs worth RM10mil.

Trained to detect the presence of polycarbonate and other chemicals in the discs, the dogs took only about 10 minutes to check boxes that security officials would need a day to examine.

Motion Picture Association Asia-Pacific director for operations Edward Neubronner said anti-piracy efforts had clearly boosted local cinema.

“In 2004, there were 59 cinemas with 216 movie screens. Now, we have 71 cinemas with 326 screens. This year’s top three movies grossed more than RM10mil in box-office takings,” he said.

Guess what? Harry our Public Relationship Manager is on a Magazine front cover. Well the name of the magazine is PETS.

Harry was said to be the Best Public Relationship Dog by PETS.

We would like to say thank you to the editor of PETS whom has taken his time to write about Harry and Puppy Cottage. Another thank you to the photographer who has all the patient to wait for Harry to pose, in order for him to snap pictures. Lastly, a big thank you to Ms. Lee who has sacrifice her weekend to be with us.

Pluto - Disney Character...

Mickey's faithful pet dog Pluto starred in 48 of his own cartoons, but also appeared along with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck in many of their cartoons.

Pluto was created as an actual dog character, with no speaking voice, as opposed to Goofy, who was created as a human character. The dog who would eventually evolve into Pluto made his debut as a bloodhound in the Mickey Mouse cartoon "The Chain Gang" in 1930.

Later that year he appeared as Minnie Mouse's dog, Rover, in "The Picnic," and the following year finally became Mickey's dog Pluto in "The Moose Hunt." Favorite sayings: "Grrr ..." "Snort!" "Sniff, sniff, sniff ..." "Bark! Bark!"

Characteristics

In Pluto's own cartoons, his friends included Fifi the Peke, Dinah the Dachshund, and Ronnie the St. Bernard Puppy. His enemies included Black Pete, Donald Duck, Butch the Bulldog, Figaro the Kitten, Chip 'n Dale, Buzz the Bee, and other characters. In Disney's 1942 animated short Pluto Junior, Pluto has a son who is simply referred to as "Pluto Junior." In the 1946 animated short Pluto's Kid Brother, Pluto has a younger brother named K.B.

Although Pluto does not normally speak, like his anthropomorphized companions, he communicates in a series of dog barks, facial expressions and body movement. The only words Pluto ever spoke, were "Kiss me."

Concept and creation

Pluto was named after the dwarf planet Pluto which was discovered in 1930, the same year that the character was introduced, and thus is indirectly named after the Roman god of the underworld.

Pluto, designed and supervised by Disney animator, Norm Ferguson, is considered one of the first Disney characters to break out of the "rubber hose and circle" formula style the studio had relied on; the dog's design gave him the appearance of actually being round instead of flat. In addition, Pluto is one of the first cartoon characters that is actually shown to have thought processes through the use of character animation. The dog's thought processes are showcased in a landmark scene from 1934's Playful Pluto, in which Pluto becomes stuck to a piece of fly paper, and attempts to figure out a way to get himself unstuck.

Well, anybody remember him? At least I do!!! He is always a cheerful little fellow, which has every character of a dream dog. Boy, do I miss watching him on my TV set. ;)

The results are in! In the American Kennel Club's annual survey of most popular purebred dogs in the U.S., the Labrador Retriever has won again. This is the 16th year in a row that the loveable Lab has topped the list.

Coming in second for 2006 is the Yorkshire Terrier, knocking out several of its larger-sized competitors.

"We have been closely tracking dog ownership trends and AKC data reveals that the popularity of smaller breeds continues to grow over the last decade," said AKC spokesperson Lisa Peterson. "Not since the Boston Terrier hit the top nearly 70 years ago has a small breed worked its way to such a high spot on the list."

"Dogs have become a fixture in the American family. The recent rise of the Yorkie proves that many modern dog owners prefer a portable, pint-sized pet that fits their modern, fast-paced lifestyle," added Peterson.

Most Popular Breed Groups

Of the seven AKC breed groups, two make up over half of the purebred dogs registered in the U.S. According to the AKC, the Sporting Group is the most popular group with almost 30 percent of the total 2006 registry. Coming in second, the Toy Group makes up 23 percent of the registry.

Large vs. Small

Dog owners in the U.S. seem to prefer a larger dog. With the Labs taking the No. 1 spot, the large breeds make up 45 percent of the 2006 registry. Small breeds come in second with 29 percent, and medium breeds are holding steady at approximately 22 percent.

High Maintenance or Low

The AKC also takes a look at factors like grooming and level of activity needed. In this year’s group, the dogs that required a low level of grooming made up 48 percent of the list. As far as activity is concerned, the dogs that require a lot of exercise made up nearly half the list.

Excitement Urination

Excitement urination occurs most often during greetings and playtime and is not accompanied by submissive posturing. Excitement urination usually resolves on its own as a dog matures, as long as it isn’t made worse by punishment or inadvertent reinforcement.

Your dog may have an excitement urination problem if:

Urination occurs when your dog is excited; for example, during greetings or during
playtime.
Your dog is less than 1 year old.

What to do if your dog has an excitement urination problem:

Keep greetings low key.
Don’t punish or scold him.
To avoid accidents, play and greet outdoors until the problem is resolved.
Take your dog to the veterinarian to rule out medical reasons for the behavior.
Until the problem resolves, you might want to protect your carpet by placing a plastic drop cloth or an absorbent material in the entryway where accidents are most likely to occur. Alternatively, you can purchase “doggie diapers” at your local pet supply store.
Ignore him until he’s calm.

Submissive Urination

Submissive urination occurs when a dog feels threatened. It may occur when he’s being punished or verbally scolded, or when he’s approached by someone he perceives to be threatening to him. It’s important to remember that this response is based on the dog’s perception of a threat, not the person’s actual intention. Submissive urination may resolve as your dog gains confidence, but you can help build his confidence by teaching him commands and rewarding him for obeying. You should also gradually expose him to new people and new situations and try to make sure all of his new experiences are positive and happy.

Your dog may be submissively urinating if:

Urination occurs when he’s being scolded.
Urination occurs when he’s being greeted.
Urination occurs when someone approaches him.
He is a somewhat shy, anxious or timid dog.
He has a history of rough treatment or punishment after the fact.
The urination is accompanied by submissive postures, such as crouching or rolling over to expose his belly.

What to do if your dog has a submissive urination problem:

Take your dog to the vet to rule out medical reasons for the behavior.
Keep greetings low key.
Encourage and reward confident postures from him.
Give him an alternative to behaving submissively. For example, if he knows a few commands, have him “sit” or “shake” as you approach, and reward him for obeying.
Avoid approaching him with postures that he reads as dominant, for example: Avoid direct eye contact. Look at his back or tail instead.
Get down on his level by bending at the knees rather than leaning over from the waist and ask others to approach him in the same way.
Pet him under the chin rather than on top of the head.
As you approach, present the side of your body to him, rather than your full front, and avert your gaze.
Don’t punish or scold him. This will only make the problem worse.

The reasons for owning a dog are as vast as the universe. Enough can never be said concerning the curative powers of love and where better to find unconditional love than with your very own dog. They share our lives and loves, they protect our lives and those of our loved ones, they give until it hurts and why? Because it is their inborn nature.

If you are lonely or sad you should consider getting a dog. If you need something to put the spark back into your life or that bounce back into your step, a dog might be just what you need. I cannot possibly list all of the benefits of buying and owning a dog but you must understand that as with all good things there are also costs and risks. Dog have their own special needs and if you are not able or willing to provide these then maybe it is best for you to enjoy the wonders of dogs from a distance. But as long as you are willing to make some sacrifice in order to enjoy the wonderful rewards then I definitely recommend owning a dog...

Destructive Dog Digging

My dog makes me laugh. He usually has little interest in digging, until he sees me doing it. If I dig a hole in one area, I guarantee that if I turn around, he will be giving a hand somewhere else in the garden. So why do dogs like digging so much and why in some cases this can be seriously destructive and requires corrective action ?

Dog Digging - Why ?

Our dogs early ancestors learnt the art of digging from an early age. They learn that burying food for later retrieval, kept it safe from other predators. They learnt that digging dens can help keep cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather. The also learnt to dig out prey that lived underground. So it should be no surprise to find that our domestic friends still have a significant digging instinct. Dog digging is a natural canine activity for which they can find highly enjoyable and therapeutic.

In the case of the domestic dog, digging behaviour can be caused by a number of factors. One thing for sure is that they don't dig your garden up out of spite, revenge or simply the need to be destructive. Dogs are not humans and they do not think like we do.

How do I stop dog digging ?

Understanding your dog's motivation to dig helps in determining the solution to stop or reduce this behaviour. Below are some suggestions to help correct digging behaviours. It is difficult to pin dog digging down to a single cause and to some extent most digging is motivated by boredom or the sheer fun of it. In all cases, punishing dog digging (particularly after the event) does not work and in all likelihood, it will cause anxiety that may make the situation worse.

Motivation	Symptoms	Possible Solutions
Protection or comfort	Dogs that spend a great deal of time outside can resort to the instinctive desire to have shelter, a place to keep warm and secure. Usually this would be as near to you as possible, perhaps near your house walls, possibly under windows so that they can hear you. Rarely would this sort of digging be in the middle of your lawn	We never recommend leaving dogs outside for prolonged periods unattended. They are pack animals and need to be part of family life. If they are left outside, ensure your dog has a kennel near the house and possible under a window that is often open. It should not be in the hot sun or cold winds.
Recreation or Boredom	For some dogs, digging can be one of their most favourite things to do. It is one way of expelling unused energy, perhaps from lack of exercise. Other dogs simply love digging, they love the earthly smells, the feel of the mud and dirt, and the pleasure of digging.	Refocusing this behaviour often achieves better results than attempting to stop it altogether. Install a digging pit filled with sand. You can start to refocus the digging by hiding treats in the sand. Also, ensure your dogs environment is full of interesting things and toys. Activity toys such as the stuffed Kongs are ideal for outside activity. Have a range of activity toys to rotate to make them seem new.
Food	Some dogs are highly motivated by food. This sort of dog digging usually takes place at the foot of trees and shrubs, rather than at walls or boundaries. The digging can be in a 'path' layout, as the dog attempts to track burrowing animals such as moles.	Some say that you should look for signs of underground animals and seek ways to deter them from your garden (at Canine Concepts, we believe all animals are equal and only condone humane methods to 'deter' rather than eradicate animals). Providing other forms of activity (see digging for 'recreation and boredom') may also help. Hiding food treats in a digging pit would also help refocus this dog digging behaviour.
Attention seeking	Digging in your presence is a symptom of this. Any behaviour can become attention-getting behaviour if dogs learn that they receive attention for engaging in it (even punishment is a form of attention).	Ignore this dog digging behaviour. Give your dog plenty of attention and human interaction.
Seeking escape	Usually involves digging along a fence line.	In this case you will need to look at the reason the dog wants to escape. These can be wide and varied and would warrant an article of its own. Some options to prevent digging at the fence line are to bury the bottom of your fence a foot or so underground, or lay chain link fence on the ground and anchor to the fence.

Early Puppies Training...

Q: I have been told that we should not start training our puppy until they are six months old. Is this true?

A: Not true!!

For the first week or two that you have your puppy home, you will both be busy getting familiar with each other, you will be learning how to take care of your new pet’s physical needs, and very soon, it will be time to begin some training. Once a puppy is settled into the household happily and has begun to trust you, you should start early basic puppy training. Obedience classes usually require their canine students to be four months old because of medical reasons -- to protect the participants, dogs in class need to have their permanent vaccinations. Nevertheless, this does not mean your puppy cannot start her training before then. With some dog breeds, waiting until they are four months of age could mean you will have a serious behaviour problem before class even starts.

Many people still hold the presumption that young puppies are not ready to learn anything until they reach a certain age and that they should be allowed to simply grow up up with no rules or parameters. However, this may not be true because they are pack animals by nature, all canines, no matter how young, are happier and more secure when they know what is expected of them. Young wolf cubs are not allowed to simply run wild until they reach a certain age. Their mothers and the other adult pack members keep careful watch on the cubs and clearly show them exactly what they are allowed to do, where they should eliminate, and so forth. In other words, wolf cubs are given rules to live by from the moment they leave the den, for their own safety and for the good of the entire pack. Puppies need this kind of direction, too.

This is not to say that a very young puppy is ready for strict, complicated training. Nevertheless, it is receptive to you, eager to please, and will be happier and less confused if it gets clear signals from you, its combination mother and pack leader.

Whatever you call it, these early weeks of training are very important if you want your puppy to grow up to be a well-mannered dog. Just as it is never too early to socialize a puppy to handling and touching, it is never too early to begin to teach it some basic social skills such as toilet training, wearing a collar and walking on a leash, and learning its name.

Subsequently, you can start teaching your puppy simple commands like Sit, Stay and Come right now.

Keep your training periods short and fun. Puppies have very short attention spans -- there are so many things happening that are new and fascinating that it is impossible for them to be focus for very long. Work on one command at a time and end the session when they are successfully completed a command and use lots of praise and treats. You will be amazed just how fast they can learn!

Surprise Party!!!

The date was 11.5.2007 and it falls on a Friday.

We, Puppy Cottage have been planning a party for weeks ahead. What kind of party? Well, it is actually a birthday party for my PR Manager, Harry. He is celebrating his one year old birthday on the date stated above.

The birthday cake that was served on that day was banana cake with cheese topping.

With the guests (boarding, day care - benefit of the day care and boarding and walk in client) arriving and we were busy preparing the cake for the host, the guests were left to introduce among themselves. Our cottage suites are fitted with ventilation systems to provide outflow of air around the area. Furthermore, we have also fitted an inflow ventilation system to complete the air circulation cycle in the suites area.

In addition, an air conditioner is install to give your pet dog a cool environment while they are sleeping in their suites.

Furthermore, the suites area are equip with mosquitoes and insects repellent to safeguard your pet dog from any harmful disease that are carried and caused by mosquitoes and insects. (e.g. heartworm, tick fever)

Lastly, the suites area is fitted with night light to ease the stress to your pet doggies.

We, Puppy Cottage, have stringent rules to be follow before we can check in your pet dog to our cottage suites. The following are the rules:

All dogs have to be on fleas and ticks prevention application. (e.g. Frontline)
All dogs are required to pass our temperament evaluation.
All dogs must be vaccinated.
All dogs must be free from skin problem.

The above rules are applied to all dog that will be boarding with us or have board with us. No exception will be given.

Additionally, your pet dog will not be in their suites 24 hours for the rest of their stay with us. He/ she will be able to socialise, play and stretch his/ her body in our designated day care area and that is why it is important that your pet dog must pass our temperament evaluation test to prevent any mishap from happening due to aggression. You would be able to view the designated day care area via Internet as well.

Lastly, with all the facilities in our cottage suites that are designed to make your dog comfy during their stay with us and the stringent rules that we enforce on all our future client, we hope you will feel confidence and comfortable in boarding your pet dog in our cottage suites.
